Job description

We're looking for an exceptional Engineering Manager with a strong engineering background to lead our engineering teams. You will focus on delivery and operational excellence while playing a pivotal role in shaping our engineering culture.

Who are we?

KUBUS has been supplying the architecture and construction industries with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software since 1992, from design software to tools for model checking, issue management and document management. With BIMcollab, our flagship product suite, we are the market leader in BIM quality management, while stimulating BIM-based collaboration throughout the whole lifecycle of buildings or infrastructure. Our platform enables users to create and use a Digital Twin that becomes the single source of truth, from design and construction to management and maintenance.

We empower users to create and maintain high-quality buildings that are circular, energy efficient, and offer a safe environment. We shape the construction industry by facilitating an integrated BIM process with fast, innovative, and user-friendly solutions that integrate with all popular BIM tools. Through high-quality, service-oriented support we let our users experience the power and joy of a smooth BIM process.

We are a firm believer in the circular economy and are an advocate of circular construction. Our software solutions contribute to the responsible use of our scarce resources. Enabling more sustainable decisions to be made from design to construction and then repurpose these materials during demolition. In our internal operations, we strive to be CO2 neutral. For example, the headquarters is virtually carbon-neutral and KUBUS offsets all CO2 emissions by planting new trees in cooperation with Trees For All, of which we are a forest partner.

Our tech stack

  • Backend: .NET, C#, C++, MS SQL Server.
  • Frontend: Vue/React, TypeScript, Pinia, Tailwind, Headless UI.

You will collaborate closely with the Lead Engineers, who are responsible for the "what and how," ensuring that the technical execution aligns with delivery timelines. With a strong engineering background, you’ll also actively contribute to planning sessions and roadmap execution. Additionally, you will partner with product management to align business priorities.

Key responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage ~2-3 engineering teams, focusing on team formation and recruitment, planning, and delivery accountability.
  • Collaboration with Lead Engineers: Work hand-in-hand with Lead Engineers, ensuring the "who and when" of delivery aligns seamlessly with the "what and how" of technical execution. Together, you will ensure projects move forward efficiently and with the right technical direction.
  • Collaboration with Product Management: Partner with product management to align engineering efforts with business goals, participating in roadmap discussions and ensuring that priorities are met within agreed-upon timelines.
  • y Accountability: Own the delivery process from planning to execution, helping teams to meet deadlines and overcome roadblocks, while cooperating with the Lead Engineer to ensure quality.
  • Operational Ownership: Manage operational aspects such as cloud costs, production operations, and team resources to ensure efficient delivery and system reliability.
  • Technical Expertise in Planning: Use your engineering experience to actively contribute to roadmap planning and technical decisions, ensuring alignment with product and technical needs.
  • Process & Systems Optimization: Continuously improve team processes, systems, and operations for better efficiency and effectiveness.
  • KPIs & Continuous Improvement: Track team performance using KPIs and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
  • Developer Wellness & Career Growth: Ensure your team members are supported, motivated, and growing in their careers (including coaching, when necessary, and prepare promotion cases). Take care of regular HR processes.
