Job description

We are looking for a driven Senior UX Designer to help us turn complex 3D construction workflows into simple, intuitive experiences for all of our users.

Who are we?

KUBUS has been supplying the architecture and construction industries with BIM (Building Information Modeling) software since 1992, from design software to tools for model checking, issue management and document management. With BIMcollab, our flagship product suite, we are the market leader in BIM quality control with model checking and issue management, stimulating BIM-based collaboration throughout the whole lifecycle of buildings or infrastructure. Our platform enables users to create and use a Digital Twin that becomes the single source of truth, from design and construction to management and maintenance.

We empower users to create and maintain high-quality buildings that are circular, energy efficient, and offer a safe environment. We shape the construction industry by facilitating an integrated BIM process with fast, innovative, and user-friendly solutions that integrate with all popular BIM tools. Through high-quality, service-oriented support we let our users experience the power and joy of a smooth BIM process.

We are a firm believer in the circular economy and are an advocate of circular construction. Our software solutions contribute to the responsible use of our scarce resources. Enabling more sustainable decisions to be made from design to construction and then repurpose these materials during demolition. In our internal operations, we strive to be CO2 neutral. For example, the headquarters is virtually carbon-neutral and KUBUS offsets all CO2 emissions by planting new trees in cooperation with Trees For All, of which we are a forest partner.

About your role

As Senior UX Designer at Kubus, you’ll use your full range of skills from problem exploration, user research, running ideation sessions, prototyping, UX/UI design and working closely with the engineering teams to make things happen.

Furthermore, you’ll need to think strategically about the future of our product and contribute to the further development of a scalable design system and process. You need to be a holistic problem solver who can look beyond and above pixels and contribute proactively at different levels.

You will be part of our dynamic product team consisting of 3 Product Owners, 1 UX Designer, 1 UI Designer, and a Head of Product. We cultivate a culture of ownership, autonomy, and accountability that empowers our designers to thrive. Working alongside engineers and product managers in cross-functional teams, you'll collaborate to craft innovative solutions that address complex challenges.

One of the challenges you will be solving is bridging the 3D modeling world with the data-intensive construction and architecture industry. You'll tackle meaningful problems where effective solutions can significantly impact time efficiency, material conservation, and issue prevention—creating real value for professionals who design and build our physical world.

Job requirements

What will make you successful in this role

  • You have proven experience in end-to-end product design for software platforms, ideally in the SaaS/B2B space.
  • You have a strong portfolio to demonstrate the end-to-end design process.
  • You have good experience working with design systems.
  • You have experience collaborating with other UX Designers, PMs, Engineers, and partnering with cross-functional teams across the business.
  • You are able to clearly communicate design work and the rationale behind it and back it up with quantitative and qualitative user research data.
  • You are a self-starter who can work through ambiguity and autonomously complete a task from start to finish with minimal oversight.
  • You have experience (and understand the benefit) of prototyping before implementation (or even HTML & CSS).
  • You have strong UI design skills (over multiple roles) using Figma (or similar).

Our offer

We offer a challenging position with lots of variety and career opportunities. You work on an innovative platform that is used daily by the world’s largest building companies globally. We cherish continuous learning and improvement and take pride in our diverse and inclusive company culture. You can count on the following:

  • A competitive salary depending on knowledge and experience in the range of €75.000 and €90.000 gross per year.
  • Profit sharing, on average 1,3 gross monthly salary.
  • 27 vacation days with an opportunity to buy additional days.
  • Above-average secondary employment conditions like a generous pension scheme and employee participation.
  • Green benefits: compensation (extra vacation days) for all personal green home investments, electrification of the vehicle fleet and a bicycle scheme.
  • Yearly learning budget of €1500 and an environment where learning and growth is encouraged.
  • Contemporary extras such as vegetarian catered lunch, fresh fruit, etc.
  • Hybrid work model, with 2 days a week in our nearly energy-neutral work environment at the office, located in the center of Eindhoven (walking distance from the Central Station).
  • A monthly home office allowance.
  • Opportunity to work fully remote for up to 4 weeks a year!

At KUBUS, we strive for an inclusive and diverse work environment where everyone is welcome, regardless of their background, gender, age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, or disability. We encourage applicants with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to apply and believe in equal opportunities for all. We value the unique contributions that each employee can make and are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone is respected and appreciated.
